SCHENECTADY MERGER: SO FAR, SO GOOD.(Sports)

Unknown and unnamed, the Schenectady high school football team toils on.

The team - made up of the merger of the city's Linton and Mont Pleasant football programs - does not have a nickname. That's because it's not out of the realm of possibility that the two public high schools may merge entirely in the near future, at which time a decision would be made on a brand new nickname or some combination between the Blue Devils (Linton) or Red Raiders (Pleasant).

It may not have a name, but the team does have a coaching staff, about 70 players, a place to practice and a place on the Big10 schedule.
