Vic: Car driven by under-age driver crashes in city

A young girl has been taken to hospital while four youths are in police custody aftera stolen car with an under-age driver collided with a taxi in Melbourne this morning.

Police say the stolen car, believed to contain up to nine teenagers, hit the taxi atthe corner of Spencer and Flinders streets about 6am (AEST).

An ambulance spokesman says the girl, who's about 13-years-old, suffered minor injuriesand was taken to the Royal Children's Hospital.

The taxi driver wasn't injured.

Some of the other youths, all about 14-years-old, fled the scene, although four arebeing interviewed by police.

The incident comes after an 11-year-old boy was driving a car which flipped and sankin a creek, killing a 42-year-old male passenger in country Victoria on Tuesday night.
